Technology Transfer

The Information Technology Department of the College of Computing conducted a series of trainings titled “Computer Literacy Readiness Training for Teachers, Students, Parents in the Virtual Learning Environment in the Digital Age” which aimed to prepare the participants of Tuliao National High School in coping with the new normal. The said project has four (4) different components which are intended to equip the beneficiaries with proper knowledge on different approaches in conducting classes. With all of the component trainings completed, the said project had successfully concluded with the technology transfer ceremony which was held the same day as the fourth installment of the trainings were completed.

The first installment of the project was about “Training-Workshop on Instructional Video Creation using PowerPoint and Camtasia Studio – Phase 1” which was graced by Mr. Ray Anthony B. Magat as the resource speaker who demonstrated on creating lecture discussions with Microsoft PowerPoint and recording the whole lecture with Camtasia Studio 8 which was held last 28th day of April 2021. The second installment of the project titled “Training-Workshop on Video Editing using Camtasia for TNHS Teachers” was held last 28th of May 2021 which was led by Mr. Paul Andrew Roa which focused on the editing features of the Camtasia Studio software. On the 30th day of June of the same year, Mr. Arni-Rie Tamayo led the participants with the “Training on Learning Management System Utilization using Google Classroom” as the third installment of the project which oriented and helped the faculty of TNHS to be familiarized with Google Classroom as the platform for conducting online classes. Last 9 December 2021, the User’s Training & Technology Transfer Ceremony of the Integrated E-Class Record & Computer-Generated Tests with Table of Specifications was conducted at the Tuliao National High School (TNHS), Tuliao, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan. The transfer ceremony is part of the continued extension project of the College of Computing with TNHS.

The training proper for the system go-through of the Integrated e-Class Record & Computer-Generated Tests with Table of Specifications (ToS) was spearheaded by Mr. Rhenel Bernisca and Mr. Arni-Rie Tamayo, faculty members of the IT Department. A morning and afternoon session was scheduled for the training proper.

Extension Projects Awards

The IT department of PSU-Urdaneta was awarded the Certificate of Completion and Certificate of Recognition for the successful completion of all the extension Projects: Computer Literacy Readiness Training for Teachers, Students, Parents in the Virtual Learning Environment in the Digital Age, Project 3xtensible MalasakIT with a Heart, Multimedia Courseware Transfer for Students and Teachers, and Computerized Generated Test for Teachers.

Copyright of the System

The System developed for the Computerized Generated Test for Teachers, QuizGen: Computerized Quiz Generator and Online Exam/Quiz Generator with TOS and Computerized Class Record, by Mr. Arni-Rie Tamayo and Mr. Rhenel Bernisca were being applied for Copyright to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines. The copyright application has been submitted to the University Director on Curriculum and Instruction for evaluation and already accomplished the Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights Transaction Form.

    Faculty Certifications and Recognitions

    As the extension projects concluded, certificates of recognition were being awarded to the Faculty Members of the Information Technology Department for their valuable contributions in conducting different activities such as Resource Speaker, and Project Coordinator.
