Participation of Significant Number of Faculty, Staff, Students, Communities in Major Projects and Activities
There is a strategy for involving the community, government, and private agencies in the extension program. The Pangasinan State University conducts a survey where the background history of the community and its needs and concerns are sought to identify. The PSU also used a memorandum of agreement which ensures that the community, government, and private agencies are actively involved in the process of implementing the program. Another is networking with the local government unit for technical support and for the incoming extension activities there would be a component of community organizing in the extension activities to be implemented.
Proponents of all extension projects are composed department chair and all faculty members. IT Department as a whole aims to help the target beneficiary in each Extension Project. As proponents, we make sure to check and consider all the necessary preparation for the proposed extension projects such as budgets, and implementation details.
Participants in planning the extension projects at the Campus level are the department representatives, campus extension coordinator, and Campus Executive Director. They are responsible for reviewing and aligning the projects to the identified needs and agenda of the Campus and the University. Upon planning, there were designations given in each extension project such as Project Leader, System Developers, Project Coordinators, etc. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, selected IT students were involved also in conducting activities as Projects Members.
