Department Operational Plan and Faculty Performance Evaluation

In order to attain the objectives of the Department, systematic and effective procedures are necessary. The Annual Operational Plan summarizes the objectives, strategies, and performance indicators in key areas of the Information Technology Department. Individual performance indicators are also used to determine the performance and growth of each faculty member.

Annual Operational Plan

The College and Department Annual Operational Plan (AOP) determines the objectives, strategies, and performance indicators in key areas of the College of Computing and the Information Technology Department. Since the AOP is stratified from the college-level to the department level, it is important to take note of both in promoting institutional effectiveness.

Through the AOP, annual assessments are done for the following areas: (a) higher education, (b) research program, (c) extension program, (d) support to operations, and (e) general administration and support services. Performance indicators are based on multiple institutional bodies, including the Commission on Higher Education, the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges, and other institutional indicators.

Faculty IPC and IPCR

Based on Memorandum Circular No. 6, s. 2012 of the Civil Service Commission, the Individual Performance Commitment (IPC) and Individual Performance Commitment Review (IPCR) as part of the strategic performance management system of government bodies.

The IPC is done at the beginning of the assessment period. Success indicators are divided among functions. Core functions include (a) instruction, (b) research services, (c) technical advisory extension services, and (d) production; other functions such as (e) support to operations, (f) general administration and support services, and (g) administration are also specified.

At the end of the assessment period, the success indicators are compared with the employee’s actual accomplishment used to determine the employee performance. The IPCR includes the accomplishments and the employee rating.

Through this, the immediate supervisor assesses individual employee performance based on the commitments made at the beginning of the period.

A summary of the IPCR results of the IT Department faculty members during the preceding periods (January-June 2021, July-December 2021) are shown below.
