Program Compliance of BS Information Technology
The curriculum of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program of Pangasinan State University- Urdaneta Campus is designed, developed, monitored, reviewed, and approved in accordance with the minimum requirements per CMO No. 25 series of 2015.
The processes for curriculum development and review/enrichment allows the members of the Information Technology Department to evaluate its academic programs in a coherent manner. Through this, it is assured that the IT curriculum used by the Department is at par with the needs of the industry.

Establishment of the Data Analytics Center
The Data Analytics Center was established under the CHED Innovation and Development Grant aimed to strengthen the capability faculty members in the data analytics field. It also aimed to help of advancing the conduct of research using new techniques of data analysis.
The Center is in support of the research and extension undertakings of the Information Technology Department, wherein most of the proposed and completed research fall under the Center’s Research Area. The Data Analytics Center houses two powerful servers capable of performing data analysis on large amount of data. Data entry computer stations are available in the DAC for various use-cases in the conduct of instruction and research related activities.
The DAC resides in the Academic Building 1 of PSU Urdaneta Campus.
International Linkage with Thu Duc College of Technology
The University, particularly the College of Computing and the Information Technology Department, has existing linkages with national and international institutions. The primary aim of these linkages is to open new doors for educational opportunities such as professional growth and research collaborations.
One particular instance is the existing memorandum of understanding between the College of Computing where the Information Technology Department is one of the two existing units. The memorandum of understanding promotes cooperation and conduct of academic and research exchanges through the following activities such:
- exchange of staffs, faculty, and students;
- conduct of collaborative joint faculty and staff research;
- conduct of technical consultancies such as but not limited to research data analysis, data analytics, and CDIO implementation;
- conduct of joint pieces of training, seminars, and workshops;
- and many other academic and collaborative activities.

On November 19th, 2018, the delegation from Pangasinan State University, Philippines (PSU) had a visit to Thu Duc College of Technology (TDC) for a meeting with the Faculty of Information Technology, TDC. Multiple IT faculty members presented their research to the faculty of TDC.
Meanwhile, on 16 December 2021, the faculty members attended the seminar on Predicting Faculty Performance through Data Mining Techniques together with the faculty of Thu Duc College of Technology.
Professional IT Certifications
The certification of IT professionals at the workplace is the best practice within organizations. Professional certification is meant for making individuals productive and successful in performing specific job tasks as instructors. Besides the regular academic diploma and degree certificates for professional teachers, there has also been a demand for teachers to acquire professional certification in teaching, to better facilitate student learning.
To respond to the demand, all faculty members of the Department of Information Technology of Pangasinan State University – Urdaneta City Campus were encouraged to seek certifications from various giving-body or organizations.
IT professional certifications are considered important indicators of commitment and professionalism by some IT professional certification providers, employers, and IT experts. IT certification providers offer several professional certifications from technical level to managerial level. These certifications are aimed at furthering individual skills in performing tasks in the current job as instructors.
Some of the IT professional certifications acquired by some of the faculty members include (a) Mobile Sites Certification, (b) Computer Systems Servicing (NC II), (c) Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing (NC II), (d) Data Management Fundamentals, and (e) ICT Proficiency Exam (Diagnostic Exam/Initial Exam).
