Research/Extension Facilities

Research is one of the four-fold functions of faculty members of the university. A research/statistics office exists in the campus to assist faculty members in the preparation, implementation, and dissemination of research outputs. Reference materials such as the campus research journal, university research journal, and copies of thesis of students are kept in the office that can be used as attachments for promotion since research publication and research advisorship are included in the criteria during the NBC evaluation.

IT faculty members conduct research along data mining, software development, statistics, and learning analytics. The Data Analytics Center was established to improve their research potential and is located in Urdaneta City Campus. Facilities such as high-end server, SPSS software, and N-computing terminals allow for concurrent processing of large volumes of data. With access to these resources, faculty members could produce research outputs on time.

Extension is also one of the four-fold functions of a faculty member of the university. The extension office exists in the campus to assist faculty members with knowledge and technology transfer to the community. Conducting extension activities allow faculty members to share their knowledge and expertise that will help improve the teaching and learning process of partner schools and provide communities with information on how to perform tasks more effectively.

The Data Analytics Center also has 16 units of Samsung tablet that can be used during extension activities to gather data off-site. These tablets were used during the Training on Data Collection Mechanisms for Field Interviewers for the Smart Citizen Satisfaction Index System of Alaminos City last July 2021. Faculty members of the College of Computing used the said tablets to demo to the Barangay Health Workers how the Data Collection Mechanism will be used in conducting citizen satisfaction survey.
