Assessment of Academic Performance

A department orientation is held before the start of classes every 1st semester, and one of the topics covered is the dissemination of grading system. At the start of classes, students are given orientation to the class, namely the grading system, where the faculty members disseminate on how to evaluate students’ performance.

During the course of the Semester, students are given four (4) written examinations, these are preliminary, mid-term, semi-final and final administered on the first, second, third and fourth month of the semester, respectively. These are given corresponding weights in the computation of final grade.

For general education courses, departmental examination is prepared universitywide. These tests are provided to all Campuses before the conduct of examination. There are assigned proctors/faculty members to administer the examination. After the examination, key answers are provided for checking. The scores will be the basis for the computation of the above given examinations. The computed grades are incorporated in the computation of the final semestral grade with the corresponding percentage distribution.

In the light of Covid-19 pandemic, new guidelines was set for examination of students; it comprises of midterm and final examinations. Students exams and quizzes are checked and returned with feedback through their MS Teams account.

Varied evaluation measures are used in different subjects and faculty are trained how to assess students performance properly.
