ENRICHMENT/SYNCHRONIZATION OF CURRICULUM AND SYLLABI ACROSS PSU SYSTEM

The University implements a university-wide amalgamation and synchronization of the curriculum and syllabi across the PSU system. The BSIT curriculum and syllabi are crafted, enriched, and revised by all stakeholders from the campuses which offer the BSIT program.
Once CHED Memorandum Order on guidelines for offering the program is released, the Top Management of the University initiates the curriculum enrichment process governed by the University’s Quality Management System through Curriculum revisit and its alignment to the proposed update of CHED and other regulatory bodies.
Following the QMS process for Curriculum Development, the revised/enriched curriculum is forwarded to the CHED for its content’s notation.
The curriculum of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program of Pangasinan State University- Urdaneta Campus is designed, developed, monitored, reviewed, and approved following the minimum requirements per CMO No. 25 series of 2015. Curriculum development and review/enrichment are dynamic and continuing processes by which the BS Information Technology program plans, implements, and evaluates its academic programs coherently and logically. This is to ensure that the IT curriculum is at par with the industry, addressing the gap between the academe and industry and ensuring that the IT graduates are employed.

DATA ANALYTICS CENTER

The Data Analytics Center was established under the CHED Innovation and Development Grant aimed to strengthen the capability of faculty members in the data analytics field. It also aimed to help of advancing the conduct of researches using new techniques of data analysis. This Center is in support of the BSIT offering of the campus under the Data Analytics track.

The Data Analytics Center houses two powerful servers capable of performing data analysis on large amount of data. Data entry computer stations are available in the DAC for various use-cases in the conduct of instruction and research related activities.

This project is governed by a Memorandum of Agreement between PSU and CHED.

PSU-LGU KONEK

Due to the travel restrictions and cancellation of face-to-face classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were numerous students do not have any ICT resources for online classes or the conduct of computer laboratory-based exercises. To address this, the University initiated the PSU-LGU ICT Konek Project. This project also aimed to bring the University’s ICT resources to public areas accessible to students. These areas are provided by the LGU partners.

For PSU-Urdaneta, the IT Department spearheaded this project. We have collaborated with the City Government of Urdaneta, which graciously provided an area at the Balikbayan Hall to house 40 computer units exclusively for use of our students in their online classes. The Urdaneta LGU also provided the Internet Connection and shouldered the electricity costs. On the other hand, faculty members were scheduled to oversee the operations of the project.
For students who want to utilize ICT resources provided by PSU, they have to register an appointment via https://www.picktime.com/psulgurdanetaICTkonek for reservation.
