Faculty Teaching Performance Evaluation and Class Observation
Students evaluate the faculty members every semester using Faculty Evaluation instrument to evaluate whether that the objectives and course outcomes in the syllabus are properly explicated in their classes which will be the basis for coaching and mentoring of the department chairs. In addition, the Department Chair/ College
Dean conducts class monitoring and observations to see whether the contents and outcomes are properly delivered as indicated in the syllabus.
The faculty performance evaluation is conducted regularly, at the end of every semester. It starts with the issuance of an Office Advisory from the VPAA for the schedule in the conduct of faculty evaluation. The department chairs and college deans conduct the faculty performance evaluation. The chairs and college deans process the result of the evaluation and inform the concerned faculty of the result of the evaluation.
The results of faculty evaluation are used as basis in improving the delivery of mandated functions. Results of the evaluation are discussed by the faculty and the Department Chairs, after which identified weaknesses are addressed.
Coaching, enhancement seminars/workshops/trainings/study tours are conducted/provided to improve teaching performance. With respect to the noted deficiencies on faculty qualifications, the Administration fully supports the Faculty Development Program of the campus by sending faculty member to finish their respective master’s and doctoral degrees, National Assessment of Competencies and their training on Trainer’s Methodologies.
Online faculty teaching evaluation replaces the old ISO form for the student to rate their teachers through their student portal before the final examination.
Faculty evaluation uses the NBC 461 instruments to evaluate the faculty members. The instrument includes the following: Commitment, Knowledge of the Subject Matter, Teaching for Independent Learning, and Management of Learning. This evaluation helps in maintaining the quality of teaching. By the fact that the faculty members are aware of the regular evaluation by the students, this would challenge the faculty members to aim for a better rating from the students.
Aside from the online faculty teaching evaluation being conducted, class observation is also being conducted to assess the performance of the faculty members. Instructional delivery of faculty members are assessed by their deans and chairs. The deans and chairs are added as co-owners in every MS Teams account for the different classes in their respective departments. A regular conduct of classroom observation at the end of every semester, and the conduct of class monitoring allows the deans and chairs to assess the performance of the faculty members, leading to coaching and mentoring if needed.
Performance Based Bonus (PBB) Evaluation
The PBB is based on the performance of the faculty along the following areas of accomplishments:
1. PES rating 70%
2. Critical Factors 30%
- Submission of Reports
- SAttendance to activities
- SParticipation to seminars
- SPunctuality and Attendance

There are two existing faculty performance evaluation system. One is with Faculty Performance Evaluation by the Students and the other one is the Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR).
Thus, faculty members were rated high by students and program/department chairs along mastery of subject matter and use of appropriate teaching methodologies/strategies as reflected in the result of the Faculty Teaching Performance Evaluation.
