Program Revision and Development

The curriculum of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program of Pangasinan State University- Urdaneta Campus is designed, developed, monitored, reviewed, and approved in accordance with the minimum requirements per CMO No. 25 series of 2015. Curriculum development and review/enrichment are dynamic and continuing processes by which BS Information Tehnology program plans, implements, and evaluates its academic programs in a coherent and logical manner. This is to ensure that the IT curriculum is at par with the industry addressing the gap between the academe and industry and ensuring that the IT graduates employment.

Composition of the Curriculum Development and Review Committee

As stipulated in the PSU Code, Chapter VIII, Article 7, the composition, and functions of the Committee are as follows:

The University-level Curriculum Development and Revision Committee shall be composed of the VP Academic Affairs as chair, The Campus Executive Director for Institution as vice chair and the Deans of the College as members.


Section 1. A Secretary of the Committee shall be elected from the members. The secretary shall record all proceedings of all meetings and safe keep all records and documents pertaining to the committee.


Section 2. Functions: Under the guidance of the University President the functions of the Committee are:
• Plan and implement curricular changes that would bring forth quality instruction in all degree programs offered.
• Propose new curricular programs that are most needed by the clientele and consumer groups.
• Revise clientele offerings based on need and relevance.

The Campus-level curriculum Development and Revision Committee shall be composed of the Campus Executive Director as chair, the College Dean as the vice chair and the department chairs as members.

Processing of Application for Program Revision

There is also a flowchart in processing of application for program revision. Documentary analysis will be conducted based on the checklist of requirements.



The Department-in-charge of the program facilities the curriculum review and/or enrichment. Then, the Campus Development and Review Committee evaluates the program revision proposal. The proposed curriculum shall pass through campus and university-level deliberation to accommodate recommendations from the Academic Council. Once approved, the proposed curriculum shall be submitted to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).


As soon as the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) is secured, the curriculum shall be presented to the BOR and must secure BOR approval. A memorandum shall be furnished and issued to implement the revised curriculum.
