Participation in Seminars/Webinars, Workshops, Training, and Conferences

Participation in seminars, tranings, fora, workshops and conferences is important for college teachers as a tool for professional development and to enhance their knowledge and quality of teaching and learning. Teachers are facing new challenges and changes in the education world, and it is important for them to equip themselves. With new knowledge and skills by attending seminars, workshops, training, and conferences for them to play an important and effective role as an educator. Besides that, the effectiveness of those is important to ensure that the training is suitable and brings positive effects to the teachers, especially in instruction.

Webinars are seminars that are performed virtually or on the Web. They can be meetings, conferences, demonstrations, training or teaching, or events that are designed to give information either one-way or interactively.

To meet the new challenges of guiding students towards higher standards of learning and self-development, the faculty members of the Department of Information Technology of Pangasinan State University – Urdaneta City Campus were urged to participate in and conduct various seminars/webinars, workshops, training, and conferences. Faculty members were also invited to become resource speakers to various online seminars to share their expertise and best practices as educators.

The IT faculty members are encouraged to attend seminars, fora, conference, and trainings in local, national, and international level. This is supported by the university by allowing them to participate in these activities with approved budget to fund their participation. This is done to keep faculty members up to date on the current developments in the IT industry, which improves student teaching and learning.
